San Antonio Network for Aphasia (SANA) Volunteering

Because aphasia affects communication, many people with aphasia take part less in activities outside the home and may feel isolated. SANA works to help people with aphasia get involved in the community by removing communication barriers.

To help participants volunteer, SANA:

  1. Partners with organizations in San Antonio that welcome people with aphasia.
  2. Trains staff on what aphasia is and how to communicate effectively.
  3. Plans monthly volunteer opportunities and helps members sign up.

SANA’s community partners are:

Monthly opportunities are sent through the SANA listserv. If you would like to be added, please email torringtonea@uthscsa.edu.
