International Dentist Education Program (IDEP) Academics Information

The academic path that students will follow during the course of this program includes online training, didactic and preclinical laboratory, as well as clinical training. Primary objectives of this program include:

  • Learning how to conduct patient care within the Comprehensive Dentistry Pre-doc clinics
  • Learning up-to-date dental knowledge and techniques
  • Becoming eligible for dental licensure and dental practice within the United States after taking state and regional board examinations

It includes schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health professions, graduate biomedical sciences and public health, and a clinical enterprise called UT Health San Antonio, which conducts 2.5 million patient visits yearly.
