The capsule endoscopy uses a tiny wireless camera to take pictures of your digestive tract. This camera sits in a vitamin-sized capsule that is swallowed by the patient. It delivers images to a digital storage device worn by the patient, typically on their waist. These images are used by physicians to evaluate and detect any abnormalities in areas of the small intestine that are not visible during other common tests, such as a colonoscopy or endoscopy.
