A Special Message from our Dean

The 17³Ô¹ÏÍø School of Nursing offers five academic programs, consisting of BSN, DNP and PhD degrees and specialty certificates. First-generation college students represent one-third of the undergraduate enrollment, along with a 20% male population. The total student body consists of more than 900 students. The School of Nursing strives to develop leaders to improve health and healthcare through education, research, practice, and community engagement. Our students engage with the faculty on the numerous opportunities that are in place to serve the San Antonio community and South 17³Ô¹ÏÍø region. Many of these opportunities will afford students the experience of interprofessional collaboration and advocating for all populations.

The school also operates a patient-care clinical practice that provides primary and acute care at its , both on campus and at a variety of community partner sites. A mobile clinic delivers services in our community through grant-supported initiatives and partnerships with community organizations.

Residing in the School of Nursing is the  (STAHEC) which is a part of a network of AHEC programs designed to improve healthcare access and education in underserved areas.  are offered to enhance education and training networks within communities, academic institutions and community-based organizations.

17³Ô¹ÏÍø Health Science Center is the academic health center of 17³Ô¹ÏÍø. It includes schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health professions, graduate biomedical sciences and public health, and a clinical enterprise called UT Health San Antonio, which conducts 2.5 million patient visits yearly.
