Vanessa Chrepa, D.D.S., M.S.

Ph.D. Student

Dr. Vanessa Chrepa was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She received her DDS from University of Athens, School of Dentistry and completed her residency and Master’s degree in Endodontics at UT Health San Antonio. She is currently an Associate Professor of Endodontics with tenure at 17Թ, and the predoctoral director for Endodontics. Dr. Chrepa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and received the 2017 AAE Educator Fellowship Award. Her research interests include regenerative endodontics, stem cell biology, endodontic outcomes, and cannabinoids for dental pain. She currently serves as the chair of the AAE Regenerative Endodontics Committee. She is an Editorial Review member for the Journal of Endodontics and International Endodontic Journal among others. Alongside her teaching and research, Dr. Chrepa maintains a private practice limited to Endodontics.

2014, Young Investigator Prize for innovation, IADR Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group
Details: This prize was given for the novel work on “Delivery of apical mesenchymal stem cells into root canals of mature teeth. Journal of Dental Research 2015; 94: 1653-9”

2012, Scholarship: Three-year scholarship for MS in Endodontics, Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation - 2012 to 2014.
Details: This is a full scholarship awarded to exceptional advanced degree graduates from Greece to pursue post-graduate/residency programs.
