Research Topic
Ramya works on generating reporter expressing influenza A viruses, and the development of live attenuated vaccines for canine influenza viruses. She also keenly works on in vivo studies using influenza viruses and SARS-CoV-2 in different animal models.

2024 - Ph.D. candidate Ramya Barre awarded for having one of the top trainee poster presentations at both the Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases for Clinicians and Translational Scientists symposium at UTMB and the Conklyn symposium at UT Health.
2023 - First place in the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø BioMed Research Symposium in the graduate student division for her poster presentation titled "A bioluminescent reporter influenza A virus to evaluate viral infections".
