Dr. Daphne Washington earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology and a minor in Child Psychology. She also earned a M.S. in Counseling with a specialization in School Guidance and Counseling and a M.A. in Biblical Counseling. She has served numerous Christian schools of higher education as an online counselor educator for over 15 years, and first joined the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Division of Graduate Counseling in 2019 as an adjunct prior to transitioning to full-time faculty in July 2023.

Dr. Washington has provided counseling services in various settings, including: an alternative school for at-risk youth, university counseling centers, a crisis counseling hotline, pastoral and Christian counseling agencies, and most recently in private practice as a tele-health counselor. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, as well as a life member of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Honor Society. She is an approved clinical supervisor for licensed graduate professional counselors as well as a licensed psychologist in the State of Maryland, a licensed professional counselor in the State of Arizona, and a Nationally Certified Counselor.  She is also a Board Certified Coach, Certified Professional Christian Life Coach, and Certified Positive Psychology Coach.  Dr. Washington is the published author of the poetry book, A Christian’s Book of Haiku. She resides in Maryland with her husband Joseph, and their three children, Joseph IV (JoJo), Jadon and Jada.
